I was so excited to shoot Caitriona and Cillian’s wedding. This was my first wedding back after a long absence due to covid postponements and 10 months of treatment for breast cancer. I was due to be finished my treatment two weeks before the big day but due to the cyber attack on the HSE my radiotherapy was delayed so I had to start Caitriona and Cillian’s wedding day with a radiotherapy session before I headed for Ballyglunin.
Caitriona and Cillian decided to go for a first look and have their photos taken before the ceremony, something I love doing. Since radiotherapy made me feel quite tired, I asked my friend Dee Organ to come along and shoot with me to make sure I didn’t let Catriona and Cillian down and her input was wonderful as always.
I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to re-enter the worlds of wedding photography with, or a lovlier couple. It was a joy to capture Caitriona and Cillian’s happiness and love, enhanced by the arrival of their son Shay for a few photos at the end of our shoot.
With a ceremony and reception at the Claregalway Hotel afterwards, the day was complete.
Thank you Caitriona and Cillian for trusting me to capture your special day, it was an honour and so wonderful to have a camera in my hand again!
