How did you first meet and get together?
We met on 11/11/11 on a night out in Limerick – Mickey Martins bar. I had just moved to Limerick, and things went from there!
Tell me about the proposal?
Brian proposed to me on a holiday to Iceland. We spent a couple of days touring around the national parks, and we found a really nice secluded lake where Brian proposed. We then went in to Reykjavik to celebrate and went ring shopping when we went back home to London.
What was important to you about your wedding and what were your priorities from the very beginning?
Most important to me was to make the day as fun and relaxed as possible – we didn’t want to tick all the boxes because we felt we had to as a typical Irish wedding. Music is important to us and we spent a lot of time researching and planning this aspect of the day.
What are your most powerful memories of the ceremony?
Walking in to the church and seeing Brian standing there, and all of our guests smiling up at the 2 of us, it was really memorable!
What made you choose your reception venue?
We had our reception in the Galway Bay Hotel, we met with the venue nearly 2 years ago and we were really impressed by their attitude and their offering. We felt secure booking with them, that they’d make it a brilliant day. And they did make it brilliant – nothing was too much to ask and they treated us like royalty!
What made the day really special and personal to you?
Just gathering our family and friends on both sides – it was amazing to see everyone we know and love in our lives, all in one place and supporting us.
Who did your hair and make-up?
Make up was by Sandra Mullen
Who supplied your flowers and cake?
Flowers were by Maddens florist in Galway. Margaret there did an amazing job.
Are there any other suppliers you’d like to mention?
Bluemoose our wedding band, were incredible and the floor was full all night. A special mention to Stephen our coordinator in the Galway Bay Hotel he looked after us so well.
What advice would you give to brides and grooms planning their day?
Just relax on the day and enjoy seeing the fruit of your efforts coming together!
